About Mycologue Publications

Founded in 1985 by Dr. Bryce Kendrick, Mycologue Publications was originally established to publish his mycology textbook, The Fifth Kingdom. He strived to produce a high quality and approachable mycological book at an affordable price. With much of the competition charging well over $100.00 for class textbooks, we think he has succeeded. Mycologue now offers a number of other mycological products.

Mycologue Publications is based in Sidney, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Bryce has an extensive collection of mycological images which he uses in lectures around the world to illustrate many of the topics presented in the text of The Fifth Kingdom. He has spent thousand of hours compiling these images, as well as finding new and improved images, and has created a multimedia version of his book: The Fifth Kingdom CD-ROM. Here, he combined his lively text with thousands of images to create an incredible one-of-a-kind mycological resource.

The health of our environment is important to Bryce. He dedicates much of his free time to educating governments and the public on the importance of preserving our biodiversity. To that end, Mycologue Publications, thanks to its customers, has been able to make significant donations during recent years to the following organizations:
